Embracing the unexpected along the way, Maria Poroy employs many layers, using not only brushes but her hands and unconventional implements to get the desired effects. The spontaneity of large brushes, richly textured surfaces, splashes, and drips all contribute to work that captures your attention and holds it over time as you discover more as you live with it. A California Artist, her work has found its way to international collectors and has been leased to the motion picture industry. She was an Artsy Shark featured artist in March 2023 and exhibited at the San Francisco Art Fair in 2024. She is a certified art therapy practitioner and has published two books, including “Healing Through Art Therapy” and “Hang It!” (a guide to displaying art in your home), both available through Amazon.
