I am originally from Damascus, one of the oldest cities in the world, a place long known for its colorful textiles, rich patterns, and deep artistic memory. Growing up surrounded by these visual stories shaped my sensitivity to color, texture, and the quiet language of materials.
For over forty years, I worked with my hands and my heart as a dentist, creating beauty and restoring smiles, often in small, careful gestures that required patience, trust, and human connection. That long practice taught me that perfection is not the goal—care is. I carry this philosophy into my art.
I work primarily with natural fibers—wool, silk, and found textiles—materials that hold history, fragility, and strength. I love to spread and open these old textiles, allowing them to breathe again and reconnect with nature, where all fibers originally belong. Through felting, using only water, soap, and movement, I bind materials together much like memory itself.
I am not perfect, but I believe in beauty born from imperfection. Felting fits my personality—it is gentle yet strong, patient yet unpredictable. Each piece becomes a quiet conversation between past and present, tradition and personal journey, loss and resilience.
