After years of living next to the Monterey Bay, I am constantly inspired and intrigued by the changing light, water and land. Subconsciously, the forces of nature feed our senses and I create art from its life force.

The ocean is always in flux. I watch it as the sun moves across it every day throughout the day. My paintings capture a moment in time that lies within my photographic memory. I know this because I am not looking at the ocean when I am painting all the images which come from what has already been captured within me. My images are about the “meeting of land and sea.”
Birth, death, rebirth, and renewal.

Painting allows and encourages me to expand my creative, spontaneous, spiritual and intuitive side. It lets me be in the flow of the moment. I enjoy creating a mood with color, texture, depth, and something that gives the viewer a luminous sense of mystery, complexity, and uplifts the spirit.

My paintings create joy, remove stress, and expand my perception of myself and the world. Looking at art increases the level of happiness in people. It removes limits we put on ourselves and encourages us to explore the magic and wonder of the world. I am devoted to exploring and learning through my art. I currently paint in my studio overlooking the Monterey Bay, which is my primary inspiration.
