What is your style of work and what media do you use?

Commonly described as Abstract Expressionism, my work starts with reality but ranges far from the original inspiration. I like leaving room for interpretation so that you put yourself into the art as you view it. Acrylic and Oil are used, but I incorporate mixed media when I turn to ink, watercolor, graphite and gesso for the mood and effect I am looking for. I enjoy multiple layering techniques and impasto.

What subject do you commonly portray?

I often start with shared iconic images such as barns and landscapes but they evolve from there. My work is more about emotion, often emphasized by color, than by subject. I often work in series to investigate a theme or concept.

What are your typical sizes?

9X12, 18X24,24X36 but I also like 12X12 and 30X30

Do you make reproductions?

Yes, reproductions are the perfect way to start a collection and explore what art speaks to you. There are some small reproductions on paper in the gallery and I do special orders of many images from my portfolio as special orders on canvas.

“Art is very personal and it should make you feel something. When you put that kind of art in your home you are doing more than decorating a wall., you are expressing yourself and sharing a lot about the real you to visitors to you home. I think the best art is complex enough for you to continue to enjoy it and discover new things about it over time. I like to think of my art making your house feel more like your home.”
