Shamble

Al Shamble is a contemporary California landscape and seascape painter.

He is drawn to the light and majesty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the magnificence of the great Pacific Ocean. He paints in a realist style with a flair of impressionism. As an environmentalist, he hopes that his Plein Air and Studio pieces convey the need to recognize and preserve our beautiful natural resources.

Al works in California at his home studio in East Garrison, near Monterey; and at his many outdoor “offices” in the Sierras and on the Pacific Coast.

Al earned a BA at UCSD with a major in Molecular Biology and a minor in Visual Arts. He studied Graphic Design and Biology at De Anza Jr College. In 2014, Al retired early to paint full time. In the past 13 years Al’s award-winning art has been displayed at museums, galleries, exhibitions, and competitions. Al is a Signature Artist with MBPAPA and schedules and leads their weekly Plein Air Paint Outs in the Monterey Bay Area.

Al Shamble paintings are in private and public collections.
