Patti
Wells
Patti Wells learned metalsmithing locally at Monterey Peninsula College in the late 1990s and early 2000s, studying under Carol Holaday.
Patti has a deep appreciation of the Asian aesthetic, as reflected in her jewelry. Working in Sterling silver and red brass, she often etches or roll-prints patterns into the pieces she produces. The pattern sources are many, found in Japanese culture and beyond. She also produces pieces that are enamel on copper, to add colors to her work. The designs she conceives are simple and well balanced. Each piece is fabricated by hand. (None are mass-produced.)
Patti was honored with an artistic achievement award at the Mill Valley fall Arts Festival in 2006.
Patti is now pleased to be a participating artist at the Venture Gallery in Monterey, California.
